Challenge
Transform the original beauty portrait into a more sophisticated editorial image while preserving the model’s natural facial structure, skin texture and expression. The challenge was to rebalance the original warm tonal response, improve the sculpting of light across the face and body, and elevate the makeup and overall palette without allowing the retouching to overpower the photography.
Retouching
The portrait was refined through detailed tonal correction, controlled Dodge & Burn and non-destructive skin work to improve transitions while preserving natural texture. Makeup, lips and facial highlights were subtly enhanced to create greater definition and balance, while the hair and jewelry received careful finishing to improve separation and visual clarity. The overall palette was shifted toward a cooler, more refined editorial direction, with deeper blacks and controlled contrast shaping the face against the background. Final color grading and tonal sculpting unified the skin, hair and accessories while maintaining a natural photographic finish.
