Burnished Poise
Challenge
Refine the original full-length fashion portrait into a more cohesive editorial image while preserving the model’s natural presence, garment structure and material character. The challenge was to improve the relationship between skin, wardrobe and background, control the original warm tonal response, and create a more sophisticated color hierarchy without losing the texture and dimensionality of the clothing.

The image was refined through detailed tonal correction, selective Dodge & Burn and controlled skin work to improve transitions while preserving natural texture. The wardrobe received targeted finishing to strengthen material separation between the satin dress and matte coat, while hair, hands and leg tones were carefully balanced for consistency across the full figure. The background was rebuilt and graded into a more restrained warm palette, creating greater visual cohesion and depth around the subject. Final color grading and tonal sculpting unified the skin, garments and environment while maintaining a natural editorial finish.
