Renaissance Copper
Challenge
Transform the original beauty portrait into a more controlled editorial image while preserving the model’s natural skin texture, facial structure and distinctive copper identity. The challenge was to balance the original highlights, improve tonal transitions across the face and neck, and bring greater cohesion to the hair, makeup, wardrobe and background without losing the texture and character of the original photography.
Retouching
The portrait was refined through detailed tonal correction, controlled Dodge & Burn and non-destructive skin work to improve transitions while preserving natural texture. Highlights and shadows across the face, eyes, lips and neck were carefully balanced to strengthen facial structure without creating an artificial beauty finish. Hair color and detail were refined to emphasize the copper tones, while the embellished garment was selectively balanced to support a cooler editorial palette. Final color grading introduced deeper, more restrained background tones and unified the skin, hair and wardrobe into a cohesive photographic finish.
